Dari Lesson 3!

(khale) tashakoor - thank you (very much)

My sister thinks she's a dari expert and is always showing off how great she is at languages. Of course that only works because I'm terrible at them (see previous lessons).

Anyways, she's been going around to everyone and saying khale tashakoor, especially after they do something really nice for and she does it really emotionally like she's so moved by their act of kindness. It's odd because people always respond a little confusedly. Finally one of her Afghan friends was kind enough to explain that what she thought was thank you very much was actually... silly thank you. Khale means silly while besayr means very.

I think I need a new dari teacher.
